This is a photograph of just me.  I am a wife, mother and grandmother and avid seamstress.  I live in southern middle Tennessee with my husband Dwight and two dachshunds, Kaiser and Snickers.  I have two adult children, Dwight S. and Melissa.  Dwight S.,  my eldest is my web master and my personal computer guru and has just married a wonderful girl named Sara, who shares my love of sewing!  They live in Virginia.  Good choice son!  Melissa my youngest child has been married for 10 + years to her dear husband Tom, who is also a computer guru and has two wonderful children.  Melissa is a professional theater costumer.  Of course she loves sewing and everything that goes with the creative process.

Several years ago I quit my dead end day job in order to teach sewing classes.  I have never looked back and have enjoyed every minute of classes since.  I teach sewing and computer classes in middle Tennessee and northern Alabama.

In September 2006 I started an American Sewing Guild Chapter in my small Tennessee town.  Our chapter name is Southern Tennessee Valley and is small but growing.    We are centrally located between Nashville, TN and Birmingham, AL and half way between Knoxville, TN and Memphis, TN.  We hope to eventually have neighborhood groups in our surrounding areas that can grow up to be chapters as well.

I am a licensed Martha Pullen Heirloom Teacher and a certified Sulky of America Teacher.  I am also certified from Husqvarna Viking to teach 3 D Embroidery Software, 4 D embroidery Software and use of the Designer SE sewing machine.  All of the licenses and certifications prove that I am truly certifiable.  (Chuckle chuckle!!)

My business is called Sew Fun, named so by several students who told me my classes were always “so much fun” My mission statement is to make sewing and sewing classes fun, if it isn’t fun, why bother?
